Vocational Nursing Track
Pending approval from the Texas Board of Nursing.
After successful completion of the Vocational Nursing HSA track, students are encouraged to pursue VN level II and VN level III coursework beginning summer following high school graduation in order to complete the Vocational Nursing Certificate and graduate in December.
The Vocational Nursing certificate leads to the LVN-to-ADN Transition AAS degree.

Upon completion of these courses and graduation from Terrell High School, students will begin with Level II of the Terrell Health Science Center VN Program all summer courses.
Students who are successful in Level II (summer) and Level III (fall) courses will graduate from TVCC with a Vocational Nursing Certificate at the end of the fall semester
A grade of C or better is required in all courses, nursing and non-nursing.

WHAT LICENSED PRACTICAL AND LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSES DO
Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) provide basic nursing care.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses work in many settings, including nursing homes and extended care facilities, hospitals, physicians’ offices, and private homes. Most work full time.
HOW TO BECOME A LICENSED PRACTICAL OR LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE
Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses must complete a state-approved educational program, which typically takes about 1 year to complete. They must be licensed.
