TDCJ Refund Timeline and Process

Students who officially drop a class or withdraw from Trinity Valley Community College will have their tuition and any lab fees refunded according to the Texas Legislative Act (S.B. 537) as listed below:

Fall or Spring Semester (16-week)

  • Prior to the first class day: 100%
  • Day 1-15: 70%
  • Day 16-20: 25%
  • Thereafter: None

Summer Semester (6-week)

  • Prior to the first class day:
  • 100% Day 1-5: 70%
  • Day 6-7: 25%
  • Thereafter: None

Summer Semester (12-week)

Prior to the first class day:

  • 100% Day 1-12:
  • 70% Day 13-15:
  • 25% Thereafter: None

Summer Semester (6-week)

  • Prior to the first class day: 100%
  • Day 1-5: 70%
  • Day 6-7: 25%
  • Thereafter: None

Students should use very good judgment before dropping a class or withdrawing from TVCC. Students should discuss all schedule changes, class refusals or drops with their instructors and counselor. Such actions may affect their ITP, which may affect a parole vote.
