Cabinet Making - TDCJ
This is a 16-week program.
The cabinet making specialization leads to a continuing education certificate of completion.
This program provides continuing education units, not college credits.
Students must have or be in the process of GED/HS Diploma.
CRPT-1045. Interior Finish Systems. (6 Credits)
Installation of interior finish systems and components including the placement and installation of doors, trim, floor, wall, and ceiling finishes. Emphasis on safe work practices and use, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
WDWK-1000. Beginning Woodworking. (6 Credits)
The first course in a logical sequence of courses in which students learn to build wood projects using dados, rabbets, and tongue & groove joints.
WDWK-1012. Cabinet Making. (3 Credits)
Cabinet design and construction.
WDWK-1013. Cabinet Making I. (6 Credits)
Design and construction of base cabinets and wall cabinets for kitchens and bathrooms. Emphasis on the safe use of portable and stationary power tools.
WDWK-2051. Cabinet Making II. (6 Credits)
Advanced skills in machine woodworking and hand craftsmanship. Emphasizes advanced design and door and drawer construction, laminate installation.
WDWK-2031. Cabinet Making III. (6 Credits)
Advanced skills in machine woodworking and hand craftsmanship. Emphasizes advanced design and door and drawer construction, laminate installation.
Continuing Education Certificate (16-Week)
Requires 5.5 E.A. score or G.E.D./H.S.
